More details about the country
The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is a landlocked country within the south-central part of Asia. It holds an essential geopolitical position both in ancient as well as in modern history. This comes from the country connecting the Middle East with Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent. Also, in the past, it was a vital stop during the long trade route known as the Silk Road. Afghanistan has the following countries as its neighbors: Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The country consists mostly of deserts and mountains with the largest being the Hindu Kush Range. Afghanistan has a surface area of 652,000 km² and a population of 26.5 million people as of 2015. The capital is Kabul, which is also the largest city in the country. The country has many historical monuments as well as interesting art and culture.
Studying in Afghanistan can be quite rewarding but at the same time it can also be risky. The country provides great programs in areas such as Mathematics and Medicine, Social and Natural sciences, Law and more. It is a worthwhile investment as the universities offer excellent quality teaching and detailed information. They also help to encourage essential traits such as compassion, empathy as well as open-mindedness. Yet, one should not enter the country without being mindful. Afghanistan has begun to improve in some aspects. But it is still struggling in other areas such as human rights and maintaining peace. Yet, if one is mindful of these aspects and aspires to help by taking up important causes, this Islamic Republic has much to offer. This includes cultural and historical places such as Kabul, a city rich in both ancient and modern history due to its important crossroad location. It can also provide a chance to gather more experience in a chosen field of expertise outside of studying. This can be accomplished by volunteering/participating in one or more causes. It can also provide a chance to learn a bit more about different cultures.
