More details about the country
Brunei is an independent Islamic sultanate within southeast Asia. It is found on the northern coast of the island of Borneo and is bounded to the north by the South China Sea. On all other sides, it shares its borders with the East Malaysian state of Sarawak. Said state also divides the country into two separate and irregular in size segments. Of these, the western segment is the larger one and contains the capital city of Bandar Seri Begawan. Brunei is a member of the Commonwealth and ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations). It achieved its independence in 1984.
Brunei can be a suitable location to study abroad for many fields of expertise and professions. While the country itself has a limited number of universities, it does offer a wide range of subjects, particularly ones related to petroleum and natural gas. Examples include Business, Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Natural sciences, Earth Sciences, and others. There are also programs related to Nursing and other medical fields. Moreover, the country is a suitable location to practice and learn one or more foreign languages. These include the sovereign state’s official language of Malay, English, which is often used in business and official dealings, Arabic, as well as minor ones such as Chinese or Lun Bawang. Should a student opt to participate in one or more volunteer projects, they will be able to choose from a relatively wide range including wildlife conservation, ecology or humanitarian work. However, while the country provides an excellent opportunity to receive a high-quality academic degree, one should be prepared to work and study hard for it as the country will admit only the students who have achieved great results at entry exams and interviews. Also, one should bear in mind that their expenses might rise significantly as beside the tuition fees, one might have to also account for acceptance fees, field/site trip fees, examination fees, and various other. Furthermore, some universities do not have on-campus housing facilities or if they do, they might request an additional fee.
