    More details about the country

Cote d’Ivoire, commonly referred to as the Ivory Coast, is an independent country located on the coast of western Africa. It is a sovereign state which shares borders with Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghana, the Gulf of Guinea, Liberia, and Guinea. It is a country that can be considered to have two capitals as the de facto capital is Abidjan, while the administrative one is Yamoussoukro. Cote d’Ivoire’s form of government is a republic with two legislative houses.

The Republic of Côte d’Ivoire can appear rather deceptive when it comes to opportunities regarding higher education. At a glance, the country appears to have no advantages which can make pursuing an academic degree worthwhile. However, this is not an accurate assumption as the country does have about 30 accredited universities that offer a comprehensive list of subjects providing in-depth knowledge. For instance, within the 20 or so institutions which can be found in Abidjan, students can study Management, Administration, Business, Finance & Banking, Accounting, Communication, Computer Science, Marketing, IT and Economics. It should also be noted that the tuition fees are less costly compared to countries such as Italy. Cote d’Ivoire is furthermore a suitable location to practice or master a foreign language such as French. This is due to French being the country’s official language due to its history as a trade post location and later French colony. Volunteer opportunities are also abundant with the projects including rebuilding infrastructure, providing emergency and humanitarian aid/relief, assisting with health care, and teaching different age groups including children.
