    More details about the country

Denmark is a sovereign country that occupies the peninsula of Jutland as well as an archipelago of more than 400 islands. This independent state is part of the northern European region known as Scandinavia and shares borders with Germany, the United Kingdom, Norway, and Sweden. Denmark also has a coastline on the North Sea as well as on the Baltic Sea. The country’s capital is Copenhagen which is located primarily on the country’s largest island – Zealand. Because of its location, this sovereign state has played a vital role in the history of the continent and continues to hold a place of importance in modern times.

Denmark holds the 10th position in the world’s education ranking system. This position is due to the country’s many institutions of higher education which offer a broad range of subjects. These include Humanities, Natural Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Technology, Business, Economics and Information Technology. Apart from the advantage of choosing from an extensive list of institutions and subjects, a student can take advantage of learning and/or practicing one or more foreign languages. This includes English as many of the programs offered can be taught in this tongue, as well as the country’s official language, Danish. In addition, students will be able to participate in internships which can help them in gaining practical skills with many programs being provided by organizations or companies which work as industry partners with one or more universities. It should be noted, however, that tuition fees can be hefty for students outside of EU/EEA nations. Yet, this setback can be mitigated by taking advantage of one or more scholarships and grants offered by public programs, and foundations.
