    More details about the country

Guatemala, officially known as República de Guatemala or the Republic of Guatemala, is an independent country in Central America unique for the dominance of a Native American culture within its interior uplands. It shares its borders with four other countries as well as one ocean and gulf: Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, Belize, the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Honduras. The country’s capital, Guatemala City, is also one of its major metropolitan centers. Another major city, Quetzaltenango, can be found in the western highlands and forms the nucleus of the Indian population.

Guatemala is a country which can provide students with both a high-quality academic degree as well as interesting experience and insight into Central America’s cultures. This is due to the country’s limited yet internationally recognized and accredited institutions of higher education providing in-depth training on multiple subjects such as Engineering, Economics, Law & Jurisprudence, Business, Communication, Education, Architecture, Administration, Arts, Humanities and others. As a result, students who have graduated from the country’s universities will be able to find suitable long-term jobs whether in other sovereign states or in their homeland without risk of their degrees being considered invalid. In addition, the country’s official language of both government matters, everyday communication and education is Spanish. This is considered advantageous as this tongue is spoken by many countries in the world and is one of the international business, political and research languages. Apart from offering in-depth training on a broad range of subjects at accredited universities and the opportunity to practice foreign-language skills, Guatemala is also a country which offers many internship and volunteer programs in a variety of fields of study such as Animal Conservation, Community Services, Healthcare, and Education.
