More details about the country
Ireland, alternatively known as Éire or the Irish Free State, is a country in Western Europe that occupies five-sixths of the westernmost major island of the British Isles. This sovereign state has a 2000-mile-wide coastline on the Atlantic Ocean and is separated from Great Britain by the Irish Sea. Ireland occupies the entire island with the exclusion of the six counties that form Northern Ireland with whom it shares a border. The capital of the country is Dublin, which is also its main port as well as center of financial and commercial power.
Ireland is a highly popular and frequently-visited tourist destination due to its culture and natural beauty. However, students should also consider this sovereign state as a suitable location to study abroad and obtain an academic degree. This is due to several reasons including a range of available universities and subjects, as well as the opportunity to gain practical skills via volunteer or internship work. Ireland is among the countries with a relatively expansive list of accredited and available institutions of higher education. It has between 60 and 70 universities including popular and often-considered institutions such as the University College Cork, the University College Dublin, the Trinity College Dublin, the Burren College of Art, and the Dublin Business School. Similarly, the country’s universities offer a wide selection of subjects such as Hospitality, Media, Tourism, Arts, Business, Education, Management, Computer Science, Accounting, Engineering, Marketing, Information Technologies, Medicine and others. Apart from the previously-mentioned advantages, the country is also a suitable location to participate in internship programs, especially ones pertaining to Marketing/Advertising, Healthcare, and Environmental. However, one should bear in mind that tuition fees can vary rather greatly.
