More details about the country
Japan, also known by its alternative names Nihon, Nippon, is an island country which lies off the east coast of Asia. It is comprised of a vast string of islands in an arc that stretches for approximately 1,500 miles through the western part of the North Pacific Ocean. Most of the 145,898 square miles of the country are taken up by the four main islands; Hokkaido (Hokkaidō), Honshu (Honshū), Shikoku, and Kyushu (Kyūshū). Of the four, Honshu is the largest, followed by Hokkaido, Kyushu, and Shikoku. The capital of Japan, Tokyo (Tōkyō), can be found in east-central Honshu and is one of the most populous cities in the world.
Japan is among the often-considered and frequently visited locations to study abroad. This is due to several contributing factors. To begin with, the country has a rather impressively long list of accredited and internationally recognized institutions of higher education. This includes universities such as the Tokyo Institute of Technology, the Waseda University, the University of Tokyo, the Kyoto University and others. Similarly, the country offers a wide selection of subjects with popular ones including Education, Humanities, Sociology, Business, Economics, Engineering, Medicine, and Arts. In addition, the country is also a suitable location to practice English, which is one of the languages that can be chosen for the education programs, as well as Japanese. Also, while tuition fees can vary greatly, there are many opportunities to earn scholarships which can assist in counterbalancing high education costs. There are also many opportunities to participate in internship programs, especially in the fields of Marketing, Banking & Financial, Banking & Financial, as well as opportunities to find a long-term job, particularly in industries related to Technology.
