    More details about the country

Panama, officially known as República de Panamá or the Republic of Panama, is an independent country in Central America. The sovereign state is situated on the Isthmus of Panama – a narrow bridge of land that connects South and North America. The country’s total land area of 29,081 square miles encompasses the isthmus as well as over 1,600 islands off its Pacific and Atlantic coasts. Panama shares its borders with the countries Costa Rica and Colombia and has coastlines on the Caribbean Sea, which is an extension of the Atlantic Ocean and on the Pacific Ocean. The capital of the country is Panama City (Panamá or Ciudad de Panamá) and can be found in the east-central part of the country near the Pacific Ocean terminus of the Panama Canal.

Panama can be a suitable and worthwhile location to study abroad. To begin with, the country has about 30 accredited and internationally recognized universities, including the favored institutions of higher education known as the Universidad Latina De Panamà, the Universidad Del Istmo, the Universidad De Panamá, the ISAE Universidad, and the Universidad Metropolitana de Educacion Ciencia y Tecnologia. Similarly, the Republic of Panama is a location where a relatively broad range of subjects can be studied, including popular selections such as Management, Education, Administration, Business, Law & Jurisprudence, Accounting, Finance & Banking, Marketing, Tourism, and Technology. Furthermore, Panama is among the suitable countries to practice and learn one of the world’s international languages. This is due to Spanish being the sovereign state’s official tongue used for business, government matters, and tuition. Also, the country offers many opportunities to participate in volunteer programs or internships, with the frequent fields of study provided including Ecology, Tourism, Biology, Health, and Law. Panama is also a sovereign state where tuition fees tend to be less costly compared to countries such as the United States of America. However, one should bear in mind that transportation costs to and from the institution of higher education can become a setback and the time needed to acquire a visa can take a while.
