    More details about the country

Slovenia, officially referred to as the Republic of Slovenia, is a sovereign country in Central Europe. It is relatively small in terms of total land area yet a topographically diverse independent state consisting of portions of four main geographic landscapes in Europe – the karstic Dinaric Alps, the European Alps, the Mediterranean coast, and the Pannonian and Danubian lowlands and hills. Slovenia’s economic, political and cultural center as well as the capital is Ljubljana (alternatively known as Emona/Laibach/Lubiana/Luvigana).

Slovenia can be a worthwhile location when it comes to attaining higher education and studying abroad. The country has a relatively limited yet diverse list of accredited institutions of higher education including the University Of Ljubljana, which is featured in the 2020 QS World University Rankings. Similarly, the sovereign state’s universities can provide in-depth training on a broad variety of subjects including Management, Business, Nursing, Health, Humanities, Economics, Arts, Tourism, Law & Jurisprudence, and Media. Furthermore, the country is a suitable location to participate in volunteer programs or internships pertaining to the fields of Ecology through wildlife conservation; Economy via assisting local businesses; and Education via teaching adults and children foreign languages. In addition, the country is among the destinations where tuition fees and costs of living tend to be less costly compared to other sovereign states such as Belgium. However, one should bear in mind that not all study programs may be available in English, therefore a language course in Slovenian may be necessary. Also, it may be necessary to have a student visa to enter the country.
