    More details about the country

Sudan, alternatively referred to as As-Sūdān/Jumhūrīyat As-Sūdān/the Republic of the Sudan, is an independent country found in Northeast Africa. Until 2011, it was Africa’s largest country, representing about 8% of the continent’s total land area. It shares borders with the sovereign states of Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Chad and Libya and has a coastline on the Red Sea. The capital and center of commerce of the country is Al-Khurṭūm, alternatively known as Khartoum. It can be found to the south of the confluence of the Blue and White Nile rivers.

At a glance, Sudan would appear to be an unsuitable location to study abroad. However, the country can serve as a stepping stone in attaining higher education and obtaining an academic degree. To begin with, the country has a relatively extensive and diverse list of accredited institutions of higher education as well as a similarly broad selection of subjects that can be studied, including Information Technologies, Medicine, Engineering, Computer Science, Administration, Economics, Philology, Education, Pharmacy, and Business. Furthermore, the country is a suitable location to learn foreign languages such as Arabic and English as these tongues are the country’s official languages. In addition to the previously-mentioned advantages, Sudan is a suitable location to participate in volunteer and internship programs, especially in the field of Education, Agriculture, Law, Communication, Finance, Accounting, Logistics, and others. Also, tuition fees tend to be relatively less costly compared to other countries such as South Africa or Egypt while providing high-quality tuition.
