    More details about the country

Sweden, alternatively known as the Kingdom of Sweden/Sverige/Svithiod, is a sovereign country found in North Europe on the Scandinavian Peninsula. The capital of the country is Stockholm and the independent state has coastlines along the Gulf of Bothnia and on the Baltic Sea. A separate coastline can be found on a narrow strait, known as The Sound (Öresund), with said strait separating Sweden from Denmark. Similar coastlines along the Skagerrak and Kattegat straits form Sweden’s southwestern borders. The country shares a border with the country of Norway.

Sweden can be considered a worthwhile location to study abroad and attain higher education. This is due to several contributing factors such as the range of available universities and study subjects, opportunities to practice practical skills such as situation analysis, foreign-language comprehension, and others. To begin with, Sweden is a country with a relatively extensive list of accredited and internationally recognized institutions of higher education, including Lund University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Uppsala University, Chalmers University of Technology, Stockholm University, University Of Gothenburg, Linköping University, and Umea University, which are featured in the 2020 QS World University Rankings. Similarly, a wide selection of study subjects can be studied in the country’s universities, including Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Arts, Education, Design, Economics, Information Technologies, Technology, and Business. Furthermore, while tuition fees can vary greatly, certain scholarship programs can assist in counterbalancing study expenses. Sweden is, also, a suitable location to participate in internship and volunteer programs, especially in the fields of Healthcare, Ecology, Technology, Pharmacy, and Architecture.
